A Moffett or transportable forklift is carried on the back of a lorry or trailer and unloaded at the delivery point. It allows a driver to load, unload and position goods where a customer's own lifting equipment may not be available.
That flexibility also creates additional risks. Operators need to understand the machine's stability, the mounting system, load handling, gradients, rough ground and the different hazards found at farms, construction sites, yards and customer premises.
